As the only 5-star one-bedroom New Forest cottage in the 2022 New Forest Cottages portfolio, Little Cottage is a delightful, well-appointed, pretty thatch and partly cob, ground floor cottage on a quiet private forest track inside the New Forest National Park in the quiet village of Tiptoe. Originally built around 200 years ago, Little Cottage was completely renovated a few years ago with new thatch, all new fittings and gas central heating, making it particularly warm and cosy in cooler weather, as well as cool in the hottest weather. An original, low stable-door leads to a sun-trap south and west facing courtyard. A welcome selection hamper of New Forest goodies is provided.
Located in the south of the National Park, Tiptoe is close to New Milton and Sway - a good base for exploring both the south coast and the New Forest.

Tiptoe is the archetypal New Forest small village, ideal for rest and relaxation and forest walks. Inside the New Forest National Park on the edge of the open forest (where animals roam) and yet only 5 miles or so from the coast. There are 25 free New Forest car parks within 5 miles of Tiptoe.
Tiptoe
itself is quiet – even in the height of summer, there are no
parking restrictions and a network of small lanes provide good
cycling (although the main B3055 runs though the edge of
Tiptoe). Just along that main road a few hundred yards is The
Plough Inn, a traditional 16th Century pub serving good
food.
Tiptoe
has a strong local identity, and the villagers recently created a
new Village Green which often features in the local twitter
feed
The village of Sway is 1.5 miles away and has a few facilities including a village stores, coffee shop, mainline railway station, award-winning butchers, post office and newsagents, chemists, two restaurants and the Hare & Hounds pub.
The
extensive towns of New Milton (3 miles) and Lymington (7 miles) are
not far away and into the forest Burley and Brockenhurst are two
delightful villages both some 5 miles away. Top New Forest
restaurants locally include The Mill at Gordleton (3 miles) and
Verveine in Milford-on-Sea (7 miles)
